WW & The Kings Speech

I lost 1.8 pounds. Considering the week I had, not bad. Of course I want the first week to be huge, but I'm happy that something came off. I ate an entire pizza for goodness sake! The meeting was interesting and the getting started session was bad! I was very tired yesterday and not feeling all that great so I was not thinking when I asked the following question of my leader: "When does this stop feeling like a diet?". Oops. First of all, I used the "D" word. WW is all about not being a diet so I should have known that was not going to go over well. Long story short, my leader basically told me I have issues and I ended up being really embarrassed. The entire experience pretty much ruined my day. Looking back on it, I think she could have become a human being for about 1.8 seconds and realized what I was asking even if I wasn't so thoughtful or eloquent in the way I asked it. I'm sure I came off bitter. What I really meant, I think, was when does it feel like second nature instead of work? I mean, naturally skinny people do not write down every bit of food they eat. And I know that tracking is something that I will not keep up for the rest of my life, so it has to become a lifestyle that comes naturally to me at some point. I imagine that it must be that way for many lifetimers. Anyway, I don't think I'll be going back to that noon meeting. WW meetings annoy me anyway, but I have to find the least annoying one.

Last night was better because I saw "The Kings Speech". It is such a wonderful movie. And as a character actress, I found the performances so inspiring. It is exactly the kind of work I would chose to do if I had that luxury. And after watching it,  I might just find myself in an acting class again. I have to do something. After the movie, my friend and I went to this little Scottish Pub for drinks and eats. I had two hot totties, which I gave myself 8 points for because of the honey. Maybe I should have given myself 10, but they didn't taste particularly strong. Either that or I am a major lush. I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich and opted for the cucumber salad side. I really wanted those damn mashed potatoes! My challenge for you girls is to tell me how many points you would have assigned this meal. I'm just curious if I was even in the realm of realistic. The sandwich had grilled zucchini, onions, tomatoes and I think green peppers. It also had a fairly thin layer of soft goat cheese and it was served on about a 6-8 inch crusty roll. I think the veggies may have had some oil on them, but not much because my fingers and napkin weren't terribly greasy. The cucumber salad didn't taste like it had oil in the dressing, just vinegar and maybe a little sugar. So, let me know what you think!

I decided to change my goals for this year. My list was initially kind of long, which is fine and I may end up achieving those original goals by virtue of achieving what I now believe to be the things I really want.
I want to lose weight and get fit. And I want to be braver. That's it. I'm not sure what I will do each day to get closer to a braver me. It may be little things like asking for what I want. I'm pretty terrified of people telling me "no". *eye roll*. How stupid is that?

Today I plan to do a lot of laundry. And try to finish cleaning my condo. It's amazing the impact my back injury has had on me. My condo is once again the official face of depression. Ha!

Tomorrow
Go work and try to be less pissy than Friday (I'd say I was pissy about 4 times)
Eat breakfast at home and bring a healthy lunch to work
Go to my intro yoga class
Cook a healthy dinner
Track everything I eat
Try to be braver

Gratitude
The Kings Speech
My friend Megan
Marvin and Grace (my kitty cats)
Sleeping in (really, I love it so much!)
The fact that I love veggies!

Have a wonderful evening!
