I'm, Uh, Quirky

One of my, uh, we'll call it quirks is my, uh, we'll call it my imagination and my, uh,  we'll call it interest in craigslist. Translation: I am crazy and I obsessively surf craiglist apartment ads in whatever city sounds appealing that day, dreaming of how blissfully happy I'll be when I move there. Seriously, I'm nearly qualified to be a real estate agent in half a dozen cities. Over the past year or so I have daydreamed about living in NYC (I've been doing that since college), in Yonkers (only if I have river views and I am a 5 minute walk to the metro), Poughkeepsie and Long Island (just trying the make it to NY any way I can), New Milford CT (New England beach town that is commuter train distance from NYC? Yes, please! AND they have a lobster festival!!), Phoenix (sunny and I have close friends there), Denver (sunny and close to family), Ann Arbor (great town, close to friends), Indianapolis (just for school) and most recently, Austin (live music capital of the world, i.e. BAND BOYS everywhere!!). NYC is always my first choice, but after weighing the pro's and cons of moving there (I am such a Virgo!), and realizing for the umpteenth time that there is no way in hell that I can afford living in the city and moving outside the city where I don't know anyone is STUPID, I give up and start looking for other options. Today I wrote someone in charge of something-or-other at LaGuardia Community College to inquire about their Deaf Studies program, but I didn't send the email because, HELLOOO, NYC ain't gonna happen... yet. Remember pros and cons? I don't think I will ever give up that dream, but it's just gonna have to wait. Surfing craigslist for apartments is always a good reminder. Oh, but I'm still going to send the email. I can't help myself :-)

Today was an okay food day. I am at least making an effort and trying to make some healthier choices.

I think I'm going to be back on the smoothies. They're my summer breakfast and I miss them. It's hard to think about making them in the winter, but I'm just not that into breakfast, unless it's a bagel and creams cheese, which it can't be right now!!

I spied the date of my high school reunion today. Ugh. Six months away.

I hope you all had a great day. I can't wait to exercise!!!

Night-Night

  1. You will look amazing in 6 months, ready for your reunion, I just know it. I know breakfast is kinda lame, if you want my yummy recipe for egg white breakfast sandwich, I'd love to share it. It keeps this girl happy and satisfied, and losing weight. A miracle I tell ya!
Craig's List stalker, there are worse things to be, I think it's a fun hobby, as long as you're looking for real estate and not husbands ;)
You're such a great person to have in my life, I am thankful for you everyday.
    xoxo!!

  2. Awww. You are so sweet! I am truly grateful to have you in my life, too! You are so much fun! Can't wait until we can meet for a shopping trip someday, and NOT cry in the dressing room. xoxo!!

  3. I'm laughing right now at the crying in the dressing room together. I just pictured all of us crying and laughing in the dressing room. NY is rough. I fantasize about moving to LA, San Diego, Maine, and Westchester. :)

  4. Haha! It's gonna be great! I could totally live in San Diego, but then I wouldn't know where to vacation! I'll be there in 2 months! Yay!
