I Feel Like a Foie Gras Duck

I'm sorry, but did someone just tie my hands behind my back and force feed me Chipotle? Because that's what it feels like. Yes, ladies, I had the pre-WW binge. My ultimate pig out! A Chipotle burrito. Those things are so good. I can almost never prevent myself from eating the entire thing in one sitting, and I'd swear they weigh about 5 pounds! I feel gross, which is good because tomorrow is D, er, WW Day. When I was walking home from Chipotle, I figured out how I'm still going to get my fix when I'm officially in food rehab. I will buy a burrito bowl sans sour cream and cheese and then add my own low fat versions when I get home. I'll use my own tortillas, too, so I'll probably get like 3 burritos out of one bowl. It's gonna be great! And I'll make my own chips so I can make them all salty and limey like they do. Very ambitious, I know.

Today was a good day. I got pretty much nothing accomplished, but I'm feeling excited about joining WW. I was thinking about the blog I posted from the CEO of WW yesterday and how much I can relate to it. My Mom was a hardcore health nut when I was a kid. She used to send me to school with cold tofu sandwiches. If you've ever seen tofu in the grocery store, you know it's packed in water. Packed in water = soggy sandwich. Gross! And I think she made her own mayo... from tofu. Double gross!! It was humiliating and not very appetizing.  In first grade we had a Valentines Day party. Everyone was supposed to bring a treat. Cupcakes, etc. I brought a bell paper. I was one skinny kid who was eagerly anticipating the day I would get to eat whatever I wanted. When I could go to a party and my Mom wouldn't be there to tell the host what I wasn't allowed to have. In retrospect, I understand why she did it. She was young and had lost her Mom to Cancer, so I know her goal was optimal health for herself and for me. She wasn't trying to make me feel like a social outsider or to ensure my lifelong devotion to Weight Watchers. In a way I'm grateful that I learned about healthy foods when I was young because there are a lot of healthy foods that I love! I just like to poor cheese whiz all over them and eat enough for 3 people. Eating out will be my biggest challenge. I want to eat what everyone else is eating!!

I hope you girls had a great day! I think about you all the time and how much your kicking ass is inspiring me to start kicking a little ass myself.

For Tomorrow
Go to my first WW meeting.
Relax and watch a movie in my cozy condo, since the wind chill will be in the negative 25 range. Fun!

Oh, and before I say goodnight, one last story. Yesterday I was walking home and noticed that it was after 5 and still light out! I was filled the with joy for about 5 seconds. Summer will return eventually. That moment comes every year and I love it!

GO BEARS!!!!
Night-Night

  1. I weigh in on Friday's too. I use to weigh in on Monday's and it didn't work out for me. I like Friday's. I really love your posting today. I can't wait to see a hint of Spring!

  2. JENNNNNAAAAWWW! I literally chuckled aloud at this post. Seriously. I love what you bring to the table (a.k.a. Blogosphere) every day. The bell pepper comment reminded me of Charlie Brown getting a rock in his Trick-or-Treat sack. You, indeed, will kick lots of ass. I've got a little that can be kicked away, if you want to practice.

You'll be dandy at WW tomorrow just like you're dandy every day. Cheers & Thanks!
